Do you have a plan?

by Barbara B. Appelbaum 29. December 2010 07:00

With the New Year only a few days away, do you have a plan?  Have you given any thought to your New Year resolutions?

Resolutions Many of us were raised with the notion that we have to have a 1-year, 5-year and 10-year plan.  Do you actually create these?  Do you write them out or just think about them?  Or do you think about it and get distracted by something else?  I know I always thought about long-term goals but never had a clue as to what I really wanted so I wrote down what I thought I should.  And, as I grew older the writing process turned into a thinking process until I eventually did absolutely nothing.

Every year we’re asked, “what are your New Year resolutions?”  The question really should be, “How many of us really keep them?”  And, even more importantly, how many of us have simply given up making them because they don’t work?

I have learned the secret to making things happen and I want to share it with you!  If you want to know what it feels like to plan for the New Year, set yourself up for success and be proactive without making another New Year resolution again, join me for a FREE teleclass called, Never Make or Break a New Year Resolution Again!

    Why Use BPA-Free Plastic?

    by Barbara B. Appelbaum 22. December 2010 07:00

Bisphenol A (BPA) is an industrial chemical used to make polycarbonate plastic resins, epoxy resins, and other products. They are typically found in everyday use as plastic containers and water bottles. Many questions about the potential health risks of BPA have arisen over the years, especially in the wake of multiple studies showing that it leaches from plastics when exposed to over-use or the high temperatures of microwaves and dishwashers. Additionally, studies appear to prove that because of this, BPA is presumably is in our diet.

BPA Free Although studies show that BPA leaching may be damaging to our health, it is not significant enough to warrant the FDA to ban the use of the chemical. However, is it worth risking your personal health even slightly?

Here are two suggestions. One, if you use containers made with this chemical, do not put them in the microwave or dishwasher and do not store hot liquids or foods in them. A second, easier option is to purchase BPA-free plastic containers and water bottles. Many companies (such as Glad and Ziploc) now market BPA-free plastic containers that you can find at your local grocery. BPA-free plastic water bottles as well as metal ones can be found virtually everywhere.

So why take a risk? Take control of your life & health. I just tossed all my old plastic containers in the recycle bin and purchased all new, BPA-free ones. And, I’ve been using both metal and BPA-free plastic water bottles for over a year. It’s simple and not expensive.
